Essential Job Functions
- Preparation of company tax filings to include:
- Federal income
- State income and franchise tax returns (including composite returns)
- Personal Property tax renditions
- Local income and excise tax returns
- Sales and Use tax returns
- Analyze and reconcile intercompany activities and reconcile intercompany account balances
- Extract financial data and calculate income tax provision for each operating group and for the consolidated group
- Research tax issues affecting the company
- Identify and adapt to tax law changes in jurisdictions where the company operates
- Corresponds with local tax authorities concerning tax notices or audits as applicable
- Other duties as assigned

Other Skills & Abilities
- Detail oriented self-starter with the ability to multi-task prioritize responsibilities and complete work timely and accurately.
- Strong problem solving organizational and time management skills.
- Solid research and writing skills (including workpaper documentation memos and emails to internal and external parties).
- Working knowledge of Federal Internal Revenue Code regulations and a working knowledge of GAAP various state/local tax regulations and foreign jurisdictions.
- Strong knowledge of Excel including VLOOKUP and PIVOT table formulas.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree from four-year college or university in Accounting or Tax;
- 5 years related experience in public accounting or industry;
- Experience with Thompson Reuters Income Tax is a plus;
- Working knowledge of freight forwarding/trucking business a plus
Certification and Licenses
- CPA certification or Enrolled Agent preferred
