Job Description Summary
The Features and Entertainment Editor is responsible for assigning managing and curating features and entertainment content. This role involves planning assigning editing articles and guiding a team of writers to produce features and reviews.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities: Content Strategy/Planning: Develop a content strategy for the features and entertainment section focusing on topics such as arts culture music film and student life. Plan the editorial calendar encourage timely and evergreen content. Editorial Oversight: Assign edit and write articles. 1 story per week unless otherwise communicated Work closely with writers to refine their pitches and improve their writing. Team Leadership: Lead a team of student writers foster a collaborative environment. Recruit new contributors as needed. Attend weekly staff and editorial board meetings. Digital Engagement: Collaborate with multimedia teams to incorporate visuals videos and interactive elements into features and entertainment content. Coordinate with social media and digital teams to promote stories.
Required Qualifications
Background in journalism. Ability to maintain professionalism and uphold ethical reporting standards.
