Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration performance and reliability of mission-critical Oracle database environments including Exadata systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oracle Database Management Oversee the installation configuration administration and maintenance of Oracle databases across production test and development environments.
2. Patch Management & Upgrades Plan and execute Oracle database patching version upgrades and migrations while ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to compliance standards.
3. Exadata Administration Manage and support Oracle Exadata systems including cell servers storage servers and Infiniband networks ensuring optimal performance and availability.
4. Performance Tuning Monitor diagnose and resolve performance issues through in-depth analysis query optimization and resource management.
5. Backup & Recovery Design implement and test robust backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Guard to ensure data integrity and disaster readiness.
6. Security & Compliance Ensure database security access control and compliance with organizational policies and industry standards (e.g. SOX GDPR).
7. Automation & Scripting Develop and maintain scripts for automation of routine tasks monitoring and reporting using Shell PL/SQL and other tools.
8. High Availability & DR Design and manage high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions including RAC Data Guard and GoldenGate as applicable.
9. Monitoring & Alerting Implement and manage monitoring tools to proactively identify and address database performance and availability issues.
10. Collaboration & Mentoring Work closely with application teams infrastructure teams and vendors; provide guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs.
Qualifications & Certifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
8 years of hands-on experience in Oracle database administration including at least 2 years with Exadata systems.
Proven track record of performance tuning and managing high-availability database environments.
Strong expertise in Oracle RAC ASM Data Guard RMAN OEM Cloud Control.
Proficient in Shell scripting PL/SQL and Linux/Unix administration.
Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other cloud platforms is a plus.
Certifications (preferred):
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Oracle Database 19c or later
Oracle Exadata Database Machine Implementation Specialist
Oracle Certified Expert (OCE) Real Application Clusters and Grid Infrastructure Administration
ITIL Foundation or equivalent (for understanding of IT service management processes)
