Job Description
The Payment Posting Specialist effectively and accurately posts all insurance payments while ensuring all claims are paid as they should be. This individual also serves as a point of contact for insurance payment questions or concerns for other staff members.
- Understand insurance and stay up to date on the typical payment models of various plans as it is ever changing.
- Ensure that all EFTs are posted as quickly as possible.
- Ensure that all EFTs and virtual credit card payments are processed and posted.
- At the month-end ensure all payments have been appropriately applied.
- Identify patterns of inaccurate payment amounts retractions denials etc.
- Answer the phone in a friendly manner and assist coworkers and patients who leave voicemail in a timely fashion.
- Work closely with other members of the billing team. This position will work closely with the Billing Supervisor and Insurance Specialists.
Qualifications :
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Excellent in-person and phone customer service
- Close attention to detail
- Great time management and organizational skills
- Team player attitude and energetic with a focus on excellent customer service
