You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailSummary: Works under the direction of the VA Plant Manager to manage the day training program and oversee the daily operation of the VA Laundry services per the federal contract requirements. Also directs work of staff and team members to ensure vocational training that is designed to foster the acquisition of skills build positive social behavior and interpersonal competence while promoting choice independence and personal growth. This service will be person centered and encourage the development of rewarding relationships community connections broadening communication skills building on self reliance by increasing life skills and self-advocacy awareness for adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities.

Education/Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of one years related work experience and/or training in a commercial laundry. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Prior experience working with developmentally challenged adults a plus. Equivalent combination of education training skills and experience may be considered.
Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to record data. Ability to speak effectively on the phone or in person to customers or employees/clients of the organization.
Mathematical Skills Ability to add subtract using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Skills Intermediate skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills The ability to key in data into an existing database program.
