About The Position

Clinical Architecture is seeking a Clinical Informaticist in the Indianapolis IN area. As part of a multidisciplinary Professional Services team the Clinical Informaticist will use clinical and informatics training and/or practical work experience to help customers solve health information interoperability problems. This position will challenge you to learn about our software Symedical and its capabilities to assist our customers with their initiatives. You will utilize your clinical experience to do all things data to help Clinical Architecture support clients on their data journey to improve patient ideal candidate will bridge the gap between clinical laboratory needs and information technology solutions driving the effective implementation and utilization of clinical terminology management and semantic interoperability to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

This role is required to be on site at our Carmel IN Headquarters. Clinical Architecture offers ample flexibility to accommodate a healthy work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients to understand their use case and requirements.
  • Research and recommend solutions and/or modeling approaches.
  • Lead the acquisition mapping normalization and governance of laboratory-related clinical terminologies (e.g. LOINC SNOMED CT ICD CPT) within Symedical ensuring accuracy consistency and compliance with industry standards.
  • Compare and critique available standards-based approaches to interoperability problems.
  • Analyze current laboratory workflows and processes identifying opportunities for improvement through the strategic application of informatics principles and Symedical functionalities particularly for test ordering results reporting and decision support.
  • Design and implement solutions for seamless data exchange between laboratory information systems (LIS) electronic health records (EHRs) and other clinical applications utilizing Symedicals capabilities for semantic interoperability.
  • Develop content models to represent clinical information.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Architectures Medical and Informatics teams to assure accuracy of clinical information in technology platforms and materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Nursing (BSN) Pharmacy (BPharm MPharm PharmD) Medical Laboratory Science or another clinical discipline is required.
  • 3 years of recent experience in a healthcare or biomedical enterprise is required.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data management clinical informatics standard terminologies and/or data analysis preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) and associated workflows.
  • Strong understanding of clinical laboratory processes test ordering result reporting and quality control.
  • Experience with healthcare interoperability standards (e.g. HL7 v2 FHIR) and their application in laboratory data exchange.
  • Deep understanding of clinical laboratory operations testing methodologies and their impact on patient care.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL for data querying and analysis is a bonus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders and clinical concepts to technical teams.
  • Ability to multi-task prioritize and manage time effectively.
