Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety
Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Conduct routine safety inspections and risk assessments recommending and following through on corrective actions.
Support onsite leadership as a SME (subject matter expert) duringincident investigations and root cause analysis; implement and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
Coordinate and deliver H&S training programs and toolbox talks to employees at all levels.
Track safety performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Environmental Compliance
Maintain and support the sites Environmental Management System in alignment with ISO 14001.
Ensure completion of environmental monitoring sampling reporting and documentation requirements.
Coordinate and support internal and external environmental audits inspections and regulatory visits.
Manage and track hazardous materials and waste in accordance with applicable regulations.
Sustainability Initiatives
Support and contribute to corporate sustainability goals including energy efficiency waste reduction and resource conservation efforts.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify and implement sustainability projects that deliver measurable environmental and social impact.
Develop sustainability metrics and assist in compiling data for internal and external reporting.
Collaboration & Reporting
Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for EHS&S-related matters across departments.
Prepare and present EHS&S reports and metrics to management and other stakeholders.
Stay current with evolving regulatory requirements environmental and sustainability standards and health and safety best practices.
Qualifications :
Post-secondary education in Environmental Science Occupational Health & Safety Sustainability or a related field.
Proven experience in EHS&S within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Experience supporting ISO 45001:2018 certification and ensure ongoing eligibility.
Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and applicable health and safety legislation.
Experience leading risk assessments audits and sustainability initiatives.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to train and influence others at all levels.
Excellent time management organizational and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; EHS data systems experience is an asset.
Ability to adapt to flexible work demands within a multi-shift manufacturing environment.
