We are currently looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Electrical Technologist to be part of the team. As a Senior Technologist you will be responsible for the design and implementation of electrical systems for various municipal industrial and transit sector projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design power distribution systems including single line diagrams power layouts and emergency power systems.
  • Develop lighting layouts fire alarm communications and security systems for building services.
  • Prepare design documentation including calculations specifications contract documents and as-built drawings.
  • Conduct site investigations inspections and field work for the design and construction phases.
  • Liaise with clients contractors and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review construction progress for compliance with contract documents and participate in factory and site acceptance testing.
  • Ensure designs adhere to applicable codes standards and client requirements.
  • Develop design reports technical proposals schedules and cost estimates.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design for building systems.
  • Post-secondary diploma in Electrical design technology.
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems including:
    • Power distribution lighting design controls fire alarm emergency and exit lighting
    • Communications cabling infrastructure security and access control
  • Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code
  • Extensive proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for electrical design and drafting.
  • Experience with capital region clients (e.g. BGIS) is a strong asset.
