Job Description

Loom Fixer - Job Description

The Loom Fixer is responsible for maintaining repairing and overhauling looms to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operation. This role also involves setting up new jobs troubleshooting weaving issues and ensuring optimal loom performance across shifts. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined attentive to detail and able to work in a physically demanding environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Repair and overhaul looms as directed
Start new jobs using a defined checklist
Troubleshoot and correct weaving defects (e.g. skips bad edges slipping web)
Replace and adjust mechanical and electrical components (e.g. springs wires needle blocks)
Maintain loom oiling and greasing routines
Use tools like drills taps and chisels without breakage
Start up new beams and binders
Monitor and improve loom performance including speed adjustments and electrical checks


Mechanically inclined with hands-on repair skills
Ability to operate looms and understand their full functions
Capable of using simple machine tools
Able to lift 35 pounds and stand for 8 hours
Basic knowledge of weaving patterns and ability to read drafts
