Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Breast Health Navigator provides guidance to breast health patients for their imaging needs and assists with appointments breast health education and emotional comfort. The Breast Health Navigator will track all patient result outcomes and provide specific medical outcome audits.

Employment Qualifications

Education:

Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Preferred Bachelors degree or relevant work experience. Must obtain/maintain continuing education and productivity requirements as specified.

Licensure/ Registration:

ARRT Registration in mammography and a minimum of 3 years breast imaging experience to include extensive knowledge of all processes related to coordination of treatment .Ohio state license Current CPR certification

Essential Job Functions:

The Breast Health Navigator will coordinate monitor and assure the delivery of care to specific patients in the Breast Health Center to achieve identified outcomes. Provide patient comfort and education regarding the needs for additional imaging and/or biopsy. Facilitate interaction and communication with healthcare staff and providers regarding written orders and medication interruption. Coordinate scheduling of appointments within established timeframe designated by program. Acts as a liaison for patients in interfacing with hospital services. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team regarding coordination of treatment and procedures to facilitate efficient care. Communicates diagnostic results to the patient and coordinates subsequent appointments. Facilitates ongoing record keeping and data tracking. Maintains and demonstrates competence in clinical for grant writing reporting and maintenance as assigned. Implements standards of care that reflect best practices and support process improvements. Maintain confidentiality of the patients protected health information in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA).

Other Job Functions

Participate in educational programs departmental meetings and in-services as required. Adheres to Mercy Health Systems rules regulations and policies. Must understand and agree to follow all Imaging department policies. Must be able to follow respect and support all decisions made by leadership team. Must act in a courteous and professional manner at all times Must demonstrate the ability to receive constructive feedback. Must be able to maintain ethical relationships and practices required of a technologist. Must be able to create and maintain a good working relationship with staff physicians and hospital leadership. Must report to work promptly and adhere to work schedule. Must be compliant with department dress code. Adhere to break schedules as outlined in accordance with patient workload. Must be respectful of Bon Secours Health System property. Must adhere to proper chain of command standards and/or processes. Must demonstrate knowledge of universal precautions and isolation policies and know how to properly use and locate PPEs. Assist in data collection and documentation for Quality Assurance initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned. Assists and supports other departments when needed.

Frequent operation of computers/standard office equipment. Hearing/talking and overall vision use (including color perception reading close-up work and using peripheral vision). Frequent standing bending reaching and grasping. some patient contact. Exposure to stressful situations
