This position is primarily for educational or religious purposes and should be used for providing valuable educational experiences for the Intern. It is to give the Intern an opportunity to see how principles and practices learned in their educational institutions are applied in actual work setting. Under general supervision the Intern performs work as assigned by the department.
Assist in the creation of a gap analysis of FamilySearch North Americanrecord content.
Assess the genealogical value of records
o held by archives libraries and record repositories.
o archived in the Granite Mountain Records Vault; and
o digitized by record custodians commercial affiliates and genealogical and historical societies.
Prioritize key content types for family history research in assigned localities.
Help with RootsTech projects as assigned.
Genealogical expertise in North American research including:
o Deep understanding of the genealogical value of records significant for family history research
o Knowledge of historical demographics
Pursuing a bachelors or masters degree or equivalent experience in Family History or a related field is required.
Adeptness with computer technology and analytical software including the ability to analyze large volumes of information in databases work withcomplex spreadsheets etc.
Must have proven ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with managers and team members in order to bring them to a common understanding of the needs of the Content Strategy team.
Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints currently worthy to hold a temple recommend.
