Title: Public Area Attendant

Position Overview: At Outbound Stowe we dont just clean roomswe craft experiences. As a Public Area Attendant youll play a vital role in creating unforgettable moments for our guests.   • Maintain cleanliness and organization of common areas ensuring they meet Outbound Hotels high standards of cleanliness and comfort.

  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure all closets and linens are stocked.

  • Uphold health and safety standards including proper handling of cleaning products and adherence to cleanliness protocols.

  • Provide friendly and attentive service at all times.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ability to walk kneel stoop and stand for entire shift while cleaning and servicing guest rooms and perform medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly lift carry push or otherwise move objects.

  • Walk all assigned floors at beginning and end of shift; remove newspapers and service trays empty ash urn receptacles remove trash and/or linens and note any areas that need immediate cleaning.

  • Clean all public areas in the prescribed manner while following safety and security procedures and regulations to include but not limited to; hallways elevators service areas stairwells etc...

  • Remove soiled linen terry and trash from the service areas and take to the appropriate locations in the prescribed manner. Must be able to lift push pull at least 50 lbs.

  • Aid section housekeepers as needed (i.e. bed boards roll-ways etc.).

  • Report any missing/found articles damage or merchandise problems to the Housekeeping Supervisor.

  • Receive assigned section keys supplies and any priority requests from the Senior Housekeeper.

  • Be able to communicate and respond at all times in a friendly helpful and courteous manner to guests managers and fellow associates. Report all guest issues and complaints to management.

  • Coordinate with Senior Housekeeper on work priorities and provide assistance when needed.

You may be assigned these:

  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Participate in hotel committees

Our expectations from you:

  • Abide by payroll policies procedures Meals and Rest Periods policy and OLS Rules of Conduct.

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all hotel safety and security procedures as required maintaining a secure and safe environment for associates as well as guests.

  • Read and abide by all the regulations and rules of conduct stated in the OLS Associate Manual.

QUALIFICATIONS:

This is what the job requires

Education: High school education.

Experience: Experience required by position is from two to three full years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s).

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to Lift push pull carry heavy loads with cleaning equipment i.e. pushing vacuum down entire length of hallway carrying supplies from department to assigned floor carrying dirty linen to laundry chute removing room service trays and carrying dirty dishes to service area.

  • Ability to Bend kneel continuously throughout the day.

  • Heavy with Cleaning i.e. dusting in all areas retrieving dirty dishes etc.

  • Ability to reach to reach all areas including: shelves windows ledges pipes under and around furniture.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time climb stairs up to approx. 100 steps 20% of 8-hour shift (time period)

  • Ability to work indoors: 95 % Outdoors: 5 %

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior Experience:
    • 1 Previous housekeeping hospitality experience preferred but not required.
  • IT Expertise:
    • Advanced knowledge of computer software (including Microsoft Office outlook) and web analytics tools is preferred.
  • Education:
    • High School diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • Subject Expertise:
    • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all property safety and security procedures as required maintaining a secure and safe environment for employees as well as guests.
    • Report any unusual occurrences and/or request to Supervisor.
    • Read and abide by all the regulations and rules of conduct stated in the Associate Handbook.
    • Must be service oriented with excellent customer service and sales skills
    • Must be able to effectively communicate to guests management and coworkers and read write and understand the English language
    • Must be energetic and outgoing
    • Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Must be able to follow directions with attention to detail speed and accuracy
    • Must be a team player with the ability to work under minimal supervision
    • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
    • Must be able to understand and work with basic financial information and solve basic arithmetic problems
    • Must be able to type 45 wpm and have the ability to input data and access information on the computer
    • Must have proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Opera; preferred.
    • Must be able to exercise confidentiality and discretion.

OTHER EXPECTATIONS:

  • Abide by payroll policies procedures and rules of conduct as stated in the Springboard Hospitality Associate Handbook.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all company safety and security procedures.
  • Travel required: As needed for hotel familiarization content creation shoots and to meet with colleagues.
  • Hours Required: Must primarily work during Springboard Hospitality business hours Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm (PST) while understanding that the hotel business functions 24/7 and some weekend or holiday work may occasionally be required.
