Job Description

Maintenance Engineer
Salary: up to 42000 overtime performance-based bonus


Location: Lichfield must hold a full UK driving licence


Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM Friday:Lunchtime finish

Travel Requirements: Open to travel throughout the UK and occasionally within Europe.



Role Overview:

This position involves the installation refurbishment and upkeep of company machinery at customer sites. Youll collaborate across departments to ensure a seamless high-quality service is delivered to clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute as a key team member in assembling refurbishing and servicing both standard and custom-built equipment.
  • Perform installations of new machinery into both manual setups and automated production lines.
  • Conduct routine servicing and troubleshooting on a variety of equipment including automatic nut/bolt feeders resistance welding systems and associated control units.
  • Interpret and work from technical drawings ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Maintain a tidy and well-organized workshop including tools materials and equipment.
  • Carry out on-site installations and maintenance primarily across the UK with occasional travel to mainland Europe.
  • Manage the sourcing and procurement of required consumables.
  • Sales Support: Engage with customers directly assisting in the provision of accurate information to the sales team for quotation development.
  • Process & Quality Improvement:Collaborate with management to improve internal workflows and contribute to continuous product and process enhancement.

Candidate Profile:
  • Proven hands-on experience in maintaining industrial machinery.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical pneumatic and electrical systems including control panels.
  • Competence in reading technical schematics (mechanical pneumatic and electrical).
  • Solid grasp of core engineering practices (e.g. materials handling drilling tapping).
  • Self-sufficient with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues independently.
  • Quality-focused with a commitment to precision and first-time-right execution.
  • Ability to follow instructions and deliver results within set time and cost constraints.
  • Proactive with a continuous improvement mindset and an eye for potential business development.
  • Effective communicator and team player capable of building positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Forklift experience is a plus (training available if not certified).
