Job Description
- Perform echocardiograms and vascular ultrasound procedures.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during ultrasound examinations.
- Prepare and maintain ultrasound equipment for daily use.
- Gather patient medical history and explain procedures to patients.
- Assist in the interpretation of echocardiograms and provide preliminary reports.
- Maintain records of all echocardiograms performed.
- Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and health protocols.
- Continuously update knowledge of echocardiography technologies.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and audits.
- Educate patients regarding echocardiogram procedures and purpose.
- Handle patient queries and provide necessary follow-up information.
- Observe and report any changes in patient condition to the medical team.
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures for department operations.
- Engage in continuing education and professional development activities.
- Associate s or Bachelor s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- Certification from a recognized professional organization in echocardiography.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferably in echocardiography.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy specifically the cardiovascular system.
- Proficiency in using ultrasound equipment and technology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills and experience with electronic medical records.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a medical setting.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and certification programs.
- Strong teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with other healthcare staff.
- Attention to detail and high standard of patient care.
- Fluency in local language and English is preferred.
