Job Description
Overview
The Echo Technician 2 performs testing procedures consisting of Adult Echocardiagrams Stress Echo Treadmill TEE Electrocardiographs and/or Pediatric Echocardiagram as required by facility with supervision of Director. S/he may provide service to patients from neonatal child adolescent adult and geriatric populations.
Responsibilities
* Verifies correct procedure by schedule book or by contacting ordering physician.
* Completes necessary pre-test paperwork with all identification and information needed by reading physician.
* Ensures accurate technical data is aquired recorded and prepared for interpretation.
* Ensures proper charges are generated for completes procedures.
* Recognizes and reports unusual occurrences to the appropriate supervisor.
* Demonstrates ability to assist physicians and staff.
* Provides physicians with requested information.
* Provides testing procedures in a timely manner.
* Demonstrates knowledge of two-dimentional and m-mode echocardiographic procedures.
* Performs all calculations and measurements in preparation for interpretation of data.
* Performs pediatric echos.
* Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system.
* Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employees area of responsibility.
* If required for the position ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.
* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.
Qualifications
BLS (American Heart Association)- Required
RCCS: Pediatric congenital and adult congenital cardiac ultrasound certification- Preferred
Employee will obtain and maintain appropriate clinical competencies for the roles assigned by their departmental leader.
