Job Description

Overview: The Nurse Intern will provide support to the Ardmore Nursing Department on a variety of clinical and organizational topics supporting the quality of care provides to individuals supported by Ardmore. The Nurse Intern will experience both community-based nursing care related activities as well as administrative organizational support under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or Nurse designee.

What You Will Learn/Experience:
  • Maintaining regular attendance and schedule for a community nursing position.
  • Documentation including Nursing Assessments Progress Notes and Care Plans.
  • Participation in the planning meetings and other meetings as invited and appropriate.
  • How to communicate effectively with team members and share
  • Observing compliance training and professional development
  • How to model appropriate adult interpersonal communication and interactions when dealing with colleagues family members and the public.
  • How to promote self-advocacy on all levels to ensure that rights choices and preferences are respected and upheld.
  • Working on assigned projects and communicate with supervisor regarding status of tasks.
  • Maintaining flexibility in order to meet the needs of Ardmore and the individuals we support.
  • Contributing as a team player by ensuring all responsibilities are met by working collaboratively with all staff on shift.
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
What We Are Looking For:
  • Currently enrolled as a student at a four-year university in an undergraduate nursing program.
  • Candidate should demonstrate an enthusiasm for working with individuals with unique challenges and have a keen interest in advancing their quality of life.
  • Must have experience with using computers.
  • Driving will be required for this position. Must have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to sit stand and walk for considerable periods of time.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for employment in the United States (Provide appropriate I-9 documentation on the first day of internship.)
