The Senior Driver Technician is responsible for the safe operation of DOT-regulated vehicles to transport equipment and materials as well as performing field service tasks at customer sites. This dual-role position combines professional driving with hands-on technical service including troubleshooting mechanical electrical and diesel systems. The Technician ensures compliance with all regulatory standards and acts as a front-line representative of the company when interfacing with customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate DOT-regulated vehicles safely following all company and federal transportation guidelines.
Deliver and set up equipment/materials at customer sites.
Conduct field service activities including maintenance repairs and troubleshooting of mechanical/electrical/diesel systems.
Proactively identify and resolve safety issues with both company- and customer-owned equipment.
Maintain accurate documentation of service activities and inspections.
Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
Promote a strong safety and performance culture through accountability and innovation.
Ensure proper care and handling of company property and equipment.
Work independently or within a team depending on project needs.
Travel as needed including overnight and cross-border trips.
Driver Compliance Requirements:
Candidates must meet the following DOT and internal compliance standards:
Valid CDL Class A with required endorsements
Valid Drivers License and current DOT Medical Certificate
Clean driving record
Ability to pass MVR drug/alcohol screening and background checks
Ability to complete and maintain the following documentation:
Driver Application for Employment
Driver Disclosure and Release
Drug and Alcohol Statement
FMCSA Certificate of Awareness
Certificate of Violations
Statement of On-Duty Hours
Road Test Certification
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
25 years of relevant technical or field service experience preferably in industrial or commercial water systems or similar environments.
Prior experience with diesel engines mechanical systems or electrical troubleshooting preferred.
Experience driving challenging routes and working in field-based roles.
Ability to obtain TWIC DISA and other customer-specific clearances.
Passport eligibility for cross-border work.
Skills and Competencies:
Technical aptitude in mechanical electrical or diesel systems (specific to business unit).
Ability to work without direct supervision.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Skilled in using Microsoft Office and smart devices.
Demonstrated critical thinking and troubleshooting ability.

Salary range:
