Job Description
THE POSITION
Utilize your communication skills while leaving a positive footprint in the community! The Wayne County Area Agency on Aging is seeking a Van Driver to interact with and provide a necessary service to those Wayne County residents in need of door-to-door transportation service. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Van Driver you will enhance the mobility of consumers by providing professional and accessible transportation in a safe reliable comfortable and courteous manner. In this position you will operate a county vehicle and drive an average of 150 miles each day. You will provide transportation service as well as social contact for our consumers including senior adults and wheelchair-dependent people. You can expect to communicate in person and via two-way radio and assist consumers along rough payment or unpaved paths. This position requires the ability to easily adjust in daily schedule. Additionally you will be providing important assistance and socialization throughout the day.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Part-time employment 14 to 21 hours per week
- Transportation operates 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturdays

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of employment which required operation of a motor vehicle as a regular duty;or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- You must have possession of a valid Pennsylvania drivers license.
Conditions of Employment:
- No suspension of drivers license within the last three years.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will requirea medical examination and drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police clearance PA Child Abuse history clearance and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
