There is one Summer Student Housekeeping position available starting on June 16 2025 and ending on August 28 2025. working 37.5 hours per week.

Your Role:

Assists with housekeeping duties for the residential facility. This position receives day to day direction and support from the Housekeeping Lead Hand. This position assists in maintaining a clean sanitized safe and attractive environment in order to enhance the health and lives of clients and staff.

Tasks:

Cleaning:

1. Assists with Cleansing of furniture walls counters railings windows stairwells and ceiling surfaces.
2. Removes waste and vacuum offices.
3. Empties recycling.
4. Cleans and sanitizes washrooms.
5. Cleans activity rooms including Arts Environmental Exercise Pool and Shower areas.
6. Maintains all common area floors including sweeping vacuuming steam cleaning spot cleaning of carpets and wet and dry mopping.
7. Operates the auto scrubber and other machines to clean hard surfaces.
8. Cleans kitchen including fridges and microwaves.
9. Vacuums and dusts living/dining areas halls and offices.
10. Responds to extra cleaning requests as required.
11. Washes rags and mops.
12. Implements infection control protocol and maintain accreditation standards.

Extra Cleaning Services:

1. Assists with spring cleaning and upholstery shampooing upon request.
2. Follows all infection control protocols for day-to-day operations.

Catering and Events Set Ups:

1. Checks room booking schedule to determine set up details for specially booked catering events or the agency meetings.
2. Assists with Set up and take down of tables and chairs to meet the needs of internal and external customers including agency wide events.

Your Talents and Experience:

Must have a minimum of Grade 10 education or equivalent. Must have the ability to communicate clearly with clients and staff. Ability to meet deadlines problem solve work independently and as part of a multi-service delivery team. Capable of lifting cleaning equipment and supplies from floor level unassisted. Must also possess an ability to relate well with people and a maturity level that indicates and ability to provide exemplary customer service.
