At Seattle Public Utilities the answer is leadership like yours. Were hiring a Rehab Program Manager (SA1) to drive essential capital projects that fortify Seattles aging wastewater infrastructure. In this role youll play a key part in reducing stormwater inflow and infiltration (I&I) preventing sewer overflows and safeguarding both public health and the environment.
This position is more than project oversightits about strategic impact. Youll coordinate urgent pipe repairs lead planning for long-term rehabilitation projects and serve as a vital link between technical teams city leadership and regional stakeholders.

Hybrid work schedule opportunities (As Appropriate)
How Youll Make a Difference:
Monitor budgets spending and performance metrics; prepare updates for senior leadership and guide projects through formal approval processes
Coordinate pipe repairs and initiate new capital rehab projects in collaboration with engineers planners and operations teams
Support broader CMOM (Capacity Management Operations & Maintenance) planning and develop capital strategies for long-term system health
Work with SPU customers on side sewer rehabilitation efforts and oversee onboarding of new assets in key basins like Arbor Heights and Delridge.

Education:Bachelors Degree
Experience:Three (3) years of professional-level experience in comprehensive planning capital project/program management infrastructure planning or utility operations (drainage water or wastewater services) or related field.Education and Experience Equivalency:Five 5 years of (relevant) experience.Combinations of appropriate education training certification and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability to the minimum education and experience requirements.
License:Current Washington State drivers license or evidence of equivalent mobilityExperienced in planning work and developing capital improvement plans
Skilled communicator with the ability to craft and share performance-related messaging
Proficient in budgeting and coordinating design efforts
Strong in data management and experienced with reporting tools
Effective collaborator able to work across teams to build consensus and drive progress
This position allows for the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Starting January 2025 City employees will have the option to work remotely two days per week. Individual schedules will be agreed upon by the employee and their supervisor.
