HeartShare St. Vincents Services (HSVS) Nuevo Camino program is dedicated to providing 38 unaccompanied minors ages 5-12 with a supportive nurturing environment through transitional foster homes daily education Monday - Friday and supportive wrap-around services in the East Brooklyn section of New York City. Our program is rooted in ensuring that service delivery is trauma informed culturally appropriate and tailored to the needs of each child while maintaining all program requirements of ORR.

Reporting to the Program Director the Lead Clinician will be responsible for supporting and ensuring the comprehensive service delivery of clinical services in the ORR program. The Lead Clinician will offer consultation and trauma-informed expertise to program staff and stakeholders to promote stable foster placements and provide clinical feedback. Additionally the Lead Clinician will conduct training during the onboarding process for new staff and continually as needed. This role includes direct supervision of clinicians and participate in an on-call schedule.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Position:

  • Support and supervise clinicians with service delivery documentation and client-related issues
  • Provide direct therapeutic services to clients and community. Oversees and conducts assessments clinical sessions and develops individualized treatment plans. Facilitates group and family sessions.
  • Ensure ORR and the programs internal documentation practices and reporting requirements are met by following contract and licensing standards. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in staff meetings with stakeholders and offer clinical feedback regarding client treatment needs
  • Attend facilitate and assist with providing ongoing education and support services to foster parents
  • Participate in data collection and review to evaluate individual and program success - set goals for improvement based on overall strategies and objectives
  • Provide crisis intervention and guidance to staff regarding clinical components of crisis intervention and treatment strategies
  • Oversee and provide trauma-informed culturally relevant clinical services to unaccompanied minors.
  • Provide weekly individual supervision to clinical staff while working to build a cohesive team and maintain positive staff morale.
  • Participate in management team meetings to ensure oversight of program needs and participate in on-call schedule for coverage.
  • Participates in in-service training and on-site workshops as required for professional growth and development. Attends external training workshops at the direction of management.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Spanish with the ability to read write and speak proficiently.Required
  • Masters degree in Social Work and 2 years of postgraduate direct service delivery experience
  • New York State License in one of the following professions:Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) / Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) / Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) / Excellent organizational/communication skills.
  • Supervisory experience in direct service delivery with the ability to effectively delegate tasks and responsibilities
  • Prior experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations is preferred
  • Ability to learn Electronic Health Record/ UC Portal
