JOB SUMMARY:

The Security Manager works to ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of the Security Department. The Security Manager oversees a team of full-time and part-time employees on a daily basis and is ultimately responsible to the Director of Xperience Management. In addition to daily department tasks this position will work an event schedule and assist in overseeing the needs of the Xperience Management Department as a whole.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans directs schedules and manages the staff and operations of the Security Department to provide security for day-to-day tasks in a manner which ensures the safety of the public and protection of assets.
  • Monitors and evaluates the performance of proprietary and contract security guards to ensure all personnel are knowledgeable of all policies and procedures while providing excellent customer service to visitors and staff.
  • Ensure that all security staff are properly trained in emergency procedures and maintain an on-going training and retraining program in order to maintain a high level of competence.
  • Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of all security systems for the building.
  • Proactively assist senior management in identifying and assessing strengths weaknesses opportunities risks vulnerabilities and threats to the building.
  • Oversees the thorough investigation and reporting of all security related incidents and ensures that all matters are duly communicated to management in a timely manner.
  • Works in partnership with the Sandy Police Department and other law enforcement agencies on matters of safety and security as they relate to the building.
  • Creates summaries narratives and metrics to aid in decision making and measure the effectiveness of the security operations.
  • Operate with an emphasis on safety for employees teams and guests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience conducting investigations including criminal and/or safety incidents.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships among several groups and deliver the highest level of satisfaction.
  • Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Ability to analyze problems determine root causes and determine results-oriented solutions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management ability.
  • Must be knowledgeable and literate with computers and have sound experience with security technologies including CCTV Access Control Incident Management Systems and surveillance equipment.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules and perform operational duties.
  • Must be able to remain calm and focused in highly stressful situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
  • This person must be able to observe inspect estimate and assess.
  • Ability to stand for an entire shift (75% standing and walking 25% stair and ramp climbing.)
  • Ability to stoop kneel crouch squat bend twist handle grasp or reach.
  • Ability to move barriers and boxes of handout materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities including close & distance vision peripheral vision and depth perception with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Majority of duties are performed indoors under controlled temperatures while some positions are outdoors in inclement weather.
