Vascular Sonographer Outpatient Registered II performs non-invasive vascular exams to assess for vascular disease or disorders under the supervision of the department supervisor. All examinations are performed within standard protocols. The sonographer delivers excellent customer service to advocate for safety patient preferences and optimal communication through partnering with patients/families and colleagues including all internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
Performs vascular ultrasound examinations for accurate assessments to aid in the identification of vascular conditions and supports patient treatment planning. Analyzes test data identifying abnormalities and relaying findings clearly to medical professionals in both verbal and written formats to contribute to informed medical decisions for vascular conditions and patient well-being. Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment ensuring its proper functioning and promptly reporting any technical issues to facilitate continuous patient care. Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams participating in discussions about patient cases sharing insights and contributing to comprehensive care plans. Must perform 4 advanced activities as outlined by departmental career ladder. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 3 years
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from ARDMS or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) from CCI or Registered Technologist Vascular Sonography (RT-VS) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); BLS (CPR)- American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare provider. Meets 4 of the career ladder requirements as outlined by the departmental career ladder document.
