Who are we looking for

GHD has an opportunity for a part-timeEnvironmental Compliance Specialistto join our EHS Compliance Team out of any of our offices in the Central Region. We are seeking self-motivated and active professionals with strong technical skills solid regulatory knowledge and who value building credible relationships with clients and the community. Youll need to be flexible in your approach to challenges and have a strong ability to think laterally in delivering technical solutions. We are seeking environmental compliance specialists with experience in developing efficient technical and regulatory strategies and solutions that address our clients specific challenges and needs.

Working with an energetic and high performing manager this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Regulatory Documentation:Support the preparation and submission of permit applications audit reports compliance reports and other regulatory documents
  • Project Management:Manage environmental projects from proposal development to project delivery ensuring client satisfaction while delivering projects safely and within scope schedule and budget
  • Regulatory Interpretation:Assist clients and staff with the interpretation of current local state and federal regulations
  • Technical Documentation:Review and prepare technical documents and reports
  • Business Development:Prepare budgets and proposals conduct business development and engage in client outreach
  • Team Leadership:Manage and mentor junior staff within the EHS Compliance Team
  • Budget and Scope Management:Develop monitor and adhere to project budgets scopes and schedules
  • Strategic Collaboration:Work with project managers and the marketing team on strategic pursuits including proposal development and client meetings
  • Industry Engagement:Maintain a high profile externally through membership and attendance in industry organizations continually growing your contact base
  • Trade Participation:Actively participate in key trade organizations and in the marketplace
  • Environmental Audits:Perform environmental audits for a variety of industries

Qualifications:

  • Experience:10 years experience in multi-media environmental regulatory compliance EHS permitting and compliance with progressively increasing responsibilities
  • Education:Bachelors degree in engineering or a science-related field
  • Technical Skills:Proven experience in leading and delivering multi-media permitting and compliance projects with a deep understanding of industry standards. Specific working knowledge and demonstrated consulting experience in the environmental services field
  • Regulatory Knowledge:Experience dealing with State and Federal regulatory agencies and a working knowledge of environmental permit processes and regulations
  • Analytical Skills:Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail
  • Regulatory Awareness:Stay abreast of the latest developments in environmental regulations and monitor changes in environmental legislation that may impact our clients
  • Interpersonal Skills:Well-developed interpersonal skills with experience working effectively in a collaborative team-oriented environment as well as exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational Skills:Solid organizational skills with the proven ability to handle multiple priorities at a time
  • Initiative:The ability to take initiative and work independently
