Shift: 1st Shift Hours 9am-5:30pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meet daily shipping deadlines by Package outgoing shipments to adequately protect them from damage in transit including strapping and shrink wrapping of freight shipments
- Understand departmental policies and procedures for shipping Sales orders Rental Orders Service shipments and miscellaneous shipments per In-Situ policy.
- Prepare shipping labels and documentation for shipments via 3 main carriers Federal Express United Parcel Service and DHL both domestic and International
- Schedule and prepare documentation for LTL Freight shipments via misc. LTL carriers
- Initiate shipments via Freight Forwarders including documentation preparation scheduling pickups and follow up through delivery. Includes air ground and ocean shipment
- Manage shipping supplies inventory by ordering supplies utilizing the Kanban system
- Monitor and resolve shipping exceptions issues and clearance delays of shipments daily.
- Prepare freight quotes at the request of other departments
- Communicate companywide via email relevant shipping information such as weather-related service delays and holiday schedules
- Coordinate with carriers regarding company closures holiday schedules etc.
- Help receiving with part put aways.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work effectively with multiple departments. Proven communication and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Windows OS and Windows Office products (Excel and Word).
- Problem solver and team player with a strong work ethic. Must be punctual to shift times.
- Valid drivers license without restrictions.
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES:
- Computer skills Basic understanding of MS Outlook MS Access and MS Excel.
- Experience with FedEx Insight and UPS World Ship Software.
- Understanding of packaging methods and techniques.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and understanding of Kanban.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:
- Computer system data terminal.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Lifting bending reaching squatting walking sitting.
Total Rewards
Compensation:Compensation will be commensurate with the applicants education experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as alignment with market data and internal comps.
Hourly Range:$19-22
Additional Compensation:Participation in a Company-sponsored variable compensation plan.
