Job Description
The Le Meridien Sheraton Charlotte Hotel is currently seeking a dynamic motivated and service-oriented individual for the position of Bar Back to join our team at our StepStone Hospitality managed hotel. The Le Meridien Sheraton Hotel located in Uptown Charlotte is a 605-room dual complex with 65000 sq. ft of meeting and conference space. The ideal candidate will have at least three to six months related experience exceptional communication skills and a passion for delivering excellent service.
- Exhibit a sound understanding of Sheraton Charlotte & Le Meridien Charlotte
- Assist the bartender with juicing and prepping for shifts.
- Assist bartender by restocking glassware and other wares as needed.
- Communicate clearly with Bartender and assist in serving all Food & Beverage orders. To assist the Bartender with suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales through up selling and ensuring that all guests expectations are met.
- Observe and monitor all guests in your station to ensure that the expected steps of service are maintained.
- Monitor and help maintain expected timeliness of orders from the kitchen to the dining room.
- Work as a link between the Bartender & Servers and the Kitchen.
- Maintain proper communication with the Bartender & Kitchen staff of any special guest F&B needs.
- Proactively determine guest needs and offer assistance
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the menu and the ability to describe all menu items prices and methods of preparation.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of appropriate bar & bar setting and service ware.
- Maintain the bar proactively attending to all needs of the guests during the duration of the service.
- Operate the POS effectively and efficiently. Maintain Checks in the POS and secure proper payment from guests.
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
- Must have a knowledge of applicable Federal state and local health safety and legal regulations.
- High school education preferred. Relevant training and experience required.
- Ability to obtain required licenses and certificates.
- CPR training and first aid training preferred.
- Additional language ability preferred.
