What You Will Do
The CDS organization is seeking a highly motivated team oriented and results driven Senior Engineer to join the Engine System Software organization. The qualified candidate will be responsible for:
- Decompose system level and customer interface requirements into software requirements and designs within an Agile Framework
- Conduct iterative prototype testing and reviews of requirements and designs
- Perform software verification within the Agile Framework including regression analysis test case development test script development and evaluation of results
- Participate in Agile ceremonies
- Participate in software planning estimating and tracking per Agile framework
- Potential to serve as Agile Scrum Master and/or part of the Development Team
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelors degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- 5 years of engineering experience or an Advanced Degree and 3 years experience.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required after day one.
- U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Bachelors degree in Aerospace Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- Solid track record of achieving results in a technical role
- Ability to work in a dynamic high pressure engineering environment
- Prior experience developing software in an Agile framework
- Prior safety critical software development experience
- Knowledge of regulatory standards such as DO178B
- Outstanding cross discipline communication skills
- Familiarity with jet engine control and diagnostic system architectures and control logic design

- Pratt & Whitney Controls & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military and commercial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems. CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development and support including requirements analysis & definition system & software architecture algorithm design product software design verification & validation and engine and flight test support.

- Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers as they are essential to the development of our engines.
- Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 82000 USD - 164000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
