Job Description

COVID 19 On-Campus Requirements

Prior to May 1 2022 the University required all students faculty staff and visitors (including contractors) to declare their COVID-19 vaccination status and provide proof that they were fully vaccinated or had an approved accommodation to engage in in-person University activities. These requirements were suspended effective May 1 2022 but the University may reinstate them at any point.

Job Summary

This position sets up new accounts monitors accounts facilitates communications and performs account reconciliation. This position investigates and identifies options related to travel card usage travel spending and discounts. This position also liaises with department representatives and external vendors explaining procedures and resolving problems.

Job Description

CORE DUTIES:

Acts as the first point of contact for university staff card holders responds to inquires and provides system support and card problem resolution.
Sets up new accounts monitors accounts facilitates communications and performs account reconciliation.
Investigates and identifies options related to travel card usage travel spending and discounts.
Liaises with department representatives and external vendors explaining procedures and resolving problems.
Generates reports on cardholder activities.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

Three-year Community College Diploma or Three-Year Bachelor Degree or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years of experience.

JOB KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge and insight of practical methods techniques and work processes that is typically acquired through a combination of technical training and/or substantial work experience.
Provide information to others that requires technical or administrative explanation or interpretation.
Attempts to resolve a difficult or challenging interpersonal situation or overcome resistance to gain cooperation.
Adapt messages to meet the needs of the intended audience.
Manage own work and may train and review the work of casual employees work study students and/or volunteers to see commitments through to completion.
Participate in project team meetings and is involved in developing individual and team project plans.
Identify new problems and seeks information and input to fully understand the cause.
Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work processes.
Break down concrete issues into parts and synthesizes information succinctly.
Respect diversity and promotes inclusion in the workplace.
Awareness of relevant legislation including Employment Equity Human Rights legislation Treaties sexual violence legislation and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and its regulations.

SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interactions require the ability to identify needs or requests and to provide recommendations for action or instructions or to gain cooperation in non-straightforward situations. May include advising students on academic matters. In addition one or more of the following is required:

* Provides persuasive recommendations for action or instructions.

* Overcomes resistance to gain cooperation in situations with more complex dynamics.

* Develops and/or delivers training materials procedures guides or workbooks.

Identifies and analyzes new and recurring problems and situations and/or information of moderate complexity. Searches for and interprets relevant information and selects or adapts the best solution from a range of alternatives and guidelines.
Provides functional guidance to others on an ongoing basis e.g. acts as a resource or how-to go-to person within the department or function.

And/or

Oversees the work of staff and/or volunteers to ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures on a short-term basis (less than 12 months). This may include requesting pre-selected casual staff for short-term needs.

Planning and coordination of own workload and work team tasks including meeting and calendar coordination involving more than 2 individuals simple travel arrangements reports training sessions and/or workshops.
Results of decisions and actions have moderate impact extending beyond immediate work area unit/department or function and/or moderate impact on service to staff students and/or public.
