Peer Navigator

WE ARE HIRING!

Peer Navigator for Maryhurst. This is a temporary position (avg. 10 hrs per week). This role is available through the end of the year.

The Peer Navigator will be responsible for providing direct assistance to individuals and families who have experienced the trauma of gun violence. This role involves providing supportive structured support acting as a mentor coach and companion. The Peer Navigator will assist clients in navigating support systems developing self-advocacy skills and utilizing available services and resources to pursue new opportunities for personal growth and healing.

What youll be doing

• Meet with newly assigned surviving individuals and families within 24-48 hours of assignment.
• Establish and maintain 1:1 peer mentoring relationship based on personal background community religion sexual orientation race employment income or other relevant factors.
• Link surviving individuals and families to emotional support mentorship and referrals to external services as appropriate.
• Provide support and monitor the utilization of services by surviving families reporting progress and results to OSHN in accordance with the grant agreement.

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have excellent communication and organizational skills
• Possess exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills

Renewal provides one-on-one group and family counseling in office home or school-based settings.
