We are currently recruiting2Cafcass Family Liaison Workersrole to support the Pathfinder 3 Pilot in West Yorkshire. The roles will be fixed term secondments initially to the end of March 2026.

This role is based in Leeds and travel to the office will be required a minimum of once a week.

Let us tell you a bit more about the role

The role of the Cafcass Family Liaison worker is predominantly administrative providing support to Family Court Advisers working within the Pathfinder Private Law Pilot. Cafcass Family Liaison Workers will also work with Service Managers and other colleagues to progress Cafcass work with families. Postholders will also work closely with family courts Childrens Social Care and other key partners to contribute to reducing delay for families. This includes reviewing applications received by the Intake Team from the family court ensuring that safeguarding checks are requested/received and supporting Family Court Advisers across their Information Screening / Assessment functions. The Cafcass Family Liaison Worker will communicate directly with families including phone calls with parents and carers.

The Pathfinder Pilot explores our commitment to improve experiences for children and families and tests a more investigative approach to managing Private Law family applications. The court encourages hearing the voice of each child or young person more clearly and earlier in proceedings. The Pathfinder approach is holistic and requires the development of positive working relationships with key local partners such as the court mediators and local authorities.
