Payroll Assistant Job Description
A fast-growing maintenance and construction company providing services to both residential and commercial clients nationwide is seeking a motivated professional to join the team as a Payroll Assistant.
The Payroll Assistant will support payroll operations by ensuring accurate processing compliance and maintenance of payroll records.
(Including but not limited to):
Enter and maintain accurate payroll and timekeeping data
Assist in calculating wages deductions and adjustments
Ensure compliance with federal state and local payroll regulations
Maintain up-to-date payroll records
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll deductions and related issues
Assist in preparing payroll reports and audits
Provide general administrative support to the payroll and HR departments

3 5 years of experience processing payroll for 100 200 employees
Strong organizational and time management skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Basic math proficiency
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive data
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Technical proficiency and adaptability
Experience with payroll systems such as CMiC Sage or similar platforms is a plus
35 40 hour work week
Primarily a desk-based role involving prolonged computer use
