Job Description
Primary responsibilities involve preparation and implementation of prescribed fire fire effects monitoring and wild land fire monitoring to apply adaptive management treatments to reduce wildfire risk and meet resource management objectives. Must be knowledgeable of computer operations/functions and fuels planning software general understanding of ecology and role fire has on the landscape any related physical sciences sampling techniques data management understanding mops/compass or GPS navigation standard fuels/fire management methods and techniques. Additional duties include but are not limited to leading or attending training sessions wild land firefighting any supportive duties as assigned.
Requirements
Maintain Valid Oregon Drive/s License and be insurable is required. Must be able to pass medical exam and arduous pock test. Obtained High School Diploma or GED. Qualified as a NWCG single resource or working on obtaining one within 2 years of hire. (Crew/firefighting/engine/heavy equipment boss) Must also submit and pass a criminal background check with Federal Tribal and State Law Enforcement.
