Job Title: Graphic Design Teacher
Location: Blue Ridge High School
Department: Career and Technical Education (CTE) or Fine Arts
Reports to: School Principal
FLSA Status: Exempt
Employment Type: FullTime 10Month Contract
The Graphic Design Teacher will develop and implement engaging standardsbased curriculum focused on graphic design principles digital media production and visual communication. The instructor will help students gain technical skills in industrystandard software and prepare for postsecondary education or careers in visual design fields. The role includes classroom management instruction and assessment within the framework of Arizonas College and Career Ready Standards and CTE program requirements.
Deliver instruction in graphic design including elements of design typography layout branding digital illustration and photography.
Teach use of industrystandard software such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop Illustrator InDesign etc.).
Develop lesson plans aligned with Arizona state standards and/or CTE program guidelines.
Integrate projectbased learning to simulate realworld graphic design tasks.
Maintain a safe inclusive and productive classroom environment.
Provide students with constructive feedback and support individualized learning.
Incorporate technology and digital platforms for instruction and assessment.
Supervise student work and designrelated projects (e.g. school posters yearbook digital portfolios).
Prepare students for industryrecognized certifications (e.g. Adobe Certified Professional).
Collaborate with colleagues advisory boards and industry professionals to enhance program relevance.
Maintain accurate records of attendance grades and student progress.
Participate in professional development and staff meetings as required.
Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate with appropriate CTE or Arts Education endorsement
(e.g. CTE Arts A/V Technology & Communications or Secondary Visual Arts endorsement)
Bachelors degree in Graphic Design Visual Communication or related field
Proficiency in graphic design software and digital media tools
Ability to manage a classroom and effectively engage diverse learners
Industry experience in graphic design digital media or visual arts
Experience teaching at the secondary level
Familiarity with CTE frameworks Arizona CTE standards and certification pathways
School setting typical classroom and computer lab environment
May require standing for long periods lifting materials and attending events or exhibitions
