You Will Be Doing:

In this role you will develop administer and document training for Alaskas federally funded Women Infants and Children (WIC) program. This role serves WIC clinic staff administrative staff state personnel and community partners to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations maintain program integrity and enhance service quality. Additionally this position coordinates Alaska WICs Competent Professional Authority (CPA) and Breastfeeding Peer Counselor (BFPC) certification programs.

The incumbent will work in the University Centers WIC Suite with a hybrid teleworking schedule as preapproved by the supervisor.

Who We Are Looking For:
The ideal candidate will possess some or all of the following positionspecific competencies in addition to the minimum qualifications listed below:
  • Technical Expertise: Effectively applies technical knowledge to solve a range of problems; develops technical solutions to new or highly complex problems that cannot be solved using existing methods or approaches; is sought out as an expert to provide advice or solutions in the technical area.
  • Dietetics and Nutrition Education and Counseling: Knowledge and application of concepts principles and practices of the role of food and nutrition to assess promote educate and counsel on nutritional benefits to improve health and prevent illness and disease in both individuals and their communities
  • Breastfeeding Education and Counseling: Knowledge of lactation human milk and breastfeeding to promote educate and counsel on the health and nutritional benefits of breastfeeding. Understands impacts of pregnancy postpartum and lactation to provide individualized assessments and group counseling on nutrition breastfeeding and health issues.
