Job Description

Reporting to the Manager Total Rewards and Human Resources Operations the Total Rewards Coordinator will be key in providing a specialized service within the Total Rewards team. This role is responsible for the administration and management of shortterm and longterm disability (STD/LTD) programs ensuring accurate data tracking compliance with collective agreements and providing guidance to both unionized and nonunion employees on sick leave policies. The position requires subject matter expertise and will serve as the initial point of contact for employees on sick leave. Additionally the role involves monitoring key milestones maintaining accurate records and ensuring the timely completion of required forms and processes.

Accountabilities:

  • Administer and manage STD and LTD programs including monitoring STD banks and providing clear comprehensive guidance to both unionized and nonunion employees regarding the interpretation and application of specific sick leave plans
  • Respond promptly and professional to employee inquires related to disability plans sick leave policies and any other leaverelated questions ensuring clear communications and resolution of concerns
  • Ensure accuracy and data integrity of employee information in systems used to track STD/LTD maintaining high standards of reliability in data
  • Work in full compliance with collective agreements and organizational policies regarding sick time ensuring adherence to established processes and timelines
  • Leverage subject matter expertise in handling Healthcare of Ontario Disability Income Plan and a custom nonunion accumulating plan applying specialized knowledge to support employees and interpret policies accurately
  • Monitor key milestones and process requirements for employee STD/LTD cases ensuring that deadlines and criteria are met for a smooth and timely administration
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees on sick leave providing support answering questions and facilitating the leave process from start to finish
  • Create and maintain accurate organized and uptodate records and files for employees on STD/LTD ensuring compliance with confidentiality and data protection standards
  • Update and maintain the STD/LTD tracker with relevant information ensuring that all details related to sick leaves and disability plans are kept current
  • Work closely with employees to ensure timely completion of all required forms and documentation related to their sick leave or disability claims
  • Act as the initial point of contact for LTD carriers ensuring clear communication and timely exchange of information necessary for the administration of LTD claims
  • Assist and support various total rewards projects as required
  • Provide backup coverage for total reward specialists as required

Qualifications :

  • Threeyear diploma/degree in human resources management from an accredited educational institution or equivalent recent and related training and experience may also be considered
  • A minimum of two years or recent and related human resources experience preferably working within a unionized health care environment
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word Excel Teams Outlook) required
  • Competency in human resources and health care systems such as Virtuo HR and Meditech
  • Demonstrated understanding of employment legislation and collective agreement administration ESA and WSIB
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills needed; as well as strong attention to detail
  • Strong administrative and data management skills
  • Highly motivated and resultsoriented able to work in a fastpaced environment

Additional Information :

Hours: Currently days in a hybrid role (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Salary:
Minimum:  $60216.00
Maximum: $75270.00
