CMHA is looking to hire a Therapist Assistant for our MulitDimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) department. This position will be located at 233 Main St. New Britain CT 06051. MondayFriday 9:00am5:00pm.
Compensation Range:The salary range for this position starts at $20.00 per hour Compensation for each position is determined not only by years of relevant experience education and skills but also by maintaining internal pay equity. Position Summary: The Therapist Assistant/Recovery Specialist serves as a key member of the MultiDimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) treatment team which will provide treatment for youth/young adults and parents with substance abuse and cooccurring disorders both in home in office and community settings. - Establish a trusting supportive relationship with family members through direct contact in the context of home visits phone contacts and assistance in times of crisis.
- Work as part of the treatment team with the assigned clinician providing assistance to both youth families and treatment team members.
- Maintains appropriate caseload as determined by agency and funder. Provides crisis intervention to family in the home office or community if need arises. This includes oncall 24/7 coverage of families on caseload.
- Adhering to documentation requirements and data collection/entry related to MDFT.
- fidelity monitoring and project evaluation efforts.
- Engages clients in treatment plan interventions particularly around clinical involvement drug testing and activities that will help to support the MDFT model of treatment.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with other community agencies and organizations in order to provide comprehensive and effective treatment services for clients (i.e. schools courts hospitals after school programs DCF probation detox/ residential substance abuse treatment facilities etc.).
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements: - Bachelors in social work/human service.
- Ability to provide own transportation.
- Bilingual/Bicultural (English/Spanish/Latino/a) and knowledge of cultural values traditions and practices of people from Puerto Rico.
- Valid DMV License.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with adolescents with substance abuse/behavioral health problems.
- Beginner to intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.

- Experience in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
