The Human Resources Office provides comprehensive programs for the Office of the Secretary of State. Programs include management consultations policy administration/interpretation recruitment/selection classification benefits administration leave and time management position management salary administration workers compensation training and employee relations.
SOS HR Office is looking for an Assistant HR Director to be part of our dynamic team. The Assistant HRD will be responsible for salary administration qualifications benefits administration classification and training for the Department of the Secretary of State. This position is also responsible for processing all personnel actions such as new hires separations reallocations leave of absences etc. and position actions into the Integrated HR Payroll system. This position serves as backup to the Agency HR Director in the areas of Policy Administration/Interpretation Employee Relations Classification Organizational Studies and Job Design Consultations. This position will also assist in the areas of Recruitment Onboarding Offboarding Time and Leave Administration Temporary request NCVIP LMS Workers Comp Payroll and Unemployment Insurance. In the absence of the HR Director the Assistant HRD will be required to attend meetings training and handle daytoday HR matters.

Bachelors degree typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and 2 years of experience required; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
