Job Description

ABOUT THE POSITION


The County of Riversides Transportation and Land Management Agency Surveyor Division is seeking a skilled and detailoriented Engineering Technician II to support the Geodetic Unit in Riverside.

This fulltime inoffice position involves a variety of technical tasks related to measurement mapping and data management with the potential for rotational fieldwork in the future. The incumbent will use a range of geodetic and engineering instruments to take precise measurements and will assist in maintaining detailed records and files related to real estate and transportation data.

In this role the Engineering Technician II will be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation supporting the upkeep of recording materials interpreting engineering plans and legal property descriptions and collaborating with engineers surveyors and technical staff to ensure project goals are met.

Proficiency with mapping tools and familiarity with geodetic instruments are preferred. Those with relevant experience as outlined above are encouraged to apply.

The County of Riversides Transportation and Land Management Agency (TLMA) is the umbrella agency for multiple county departments as well as a few distinct TLMA Agency Divisions / departments. The departments include: the Transportation Planning Building and Safety and Code Enforcement Departments the Riverside County Airport Land Use Commission (ALUC) the Aviation Division and TLMA Agency Administration. The portfolios departments are focused on infrastructure facilities and critical services which are essential to the quality of life safety wellbeing and public health of Riverside County residents.

Transportation

The Transportation Department is responsible for planning designing funding building operating and maintaining all roads bridges and transportation facilities within the unincorporated County territory.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS





For those positions designated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) as safetysensitive applicants are required to complete a DOT mandated alcohol and drugscreening. (A positive test or refusal to test during the past two years will disqualify an applicant from consideration for County employment). Reference checks from former DOT regulated employers are also required. Applicants must submit a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) driving record prior to hire. Employees in safetysensitive positions are subject to DOT alcohol/drug testing in the following situations: random reasonable suspicion/cause returntoduty and postaccident.
