Job Description

Behavior Support AssistantSummer Program Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pmSchool InSession Hours:Hours: 7:00am to 8:30am / 2:00pm to 5:30pmParttime hours. All shifts available. (up to 20 hours per week)REPORTS TO: Out of School Time Director/Out of School Time CoordinatorJOB GOAL: Assists students with behavioral needs implements positive behavior interventions and maintains a safe and supportive RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Student Support: individual or small group support to students with social emotional and behavioral challenges.b. Assist students in developing and maintaining positive social and emotional skills.c. Monitor student behavior and provide feedback to staff.2. Environment and Safety: a safe structured and positive learning environment.b. Supervise students during various activities such as snack art physical activity and other transitions.c. Ensure compliance with Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) safety protocols and regulations.3. Communication and Collaboration: effectively with staff parents and students.b. Assist in documenting student behavior as needed.c. Participate in staff meetings and training.* Performs such other appropriate tasks as may be assigned from time to DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the major responsibilities of this position. The employee is required to walk stoop bend crawl or kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds without assistance and up to 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. The position requires the ability to operate a computer keyboard standard office equipment and tools at efficient SKILLS:Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules policies instructions correspondence and procedures. Ability to write routine reports and to speak effectively to employees students and the general SKILLS:Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and ENVIRONMENT:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the major functions of this position requires an individual to work inside a classroom setting where noise level in the work environment is usually OF EMPLOYMENT (school year or full year): full yearEVALUATION:Evaluation will be in accordance with district policy and/or collective bargaining agreements.
