Job Description

Hartford Memorial Middle School (a grade 68 school of approximately 300 students) is searching for an Alternative Classroom Paraprofessional to work in tandem with the Special Educator Teacher and Classroom Counselor within The Phoenix Program. This program is part of a multitiered system of support offering an engaging classroom setting for students whose academic behavioral and socialemotional needs may be different than that of their peers. Specifically the person in this position will support students within the classroom setting on social emotional and executive functioning skill development as well as in access to their academic learning. While the majority of the work will be with a small group of students there will be opportunity for onetoone support and intervention. Ongoing training supervision and oversight will be provided by the Phoenix Team HMMS Administration and Hartford School District Clinical is committed to a proactive inclusive relationshipbased and traumainformed approach that contributes to and promotes a safe healthy socially and academically vibrant climate for all stakeholders where building positive relationships is the priority.
