Job Description
The PartTime Research Assistant will contribute to research activities for Tulsa University Fluid Flow Projects ( TUFFP ) at TUs North Campus. They will be responsible for operating required experimental facilities and acquiring data. They will assist the research associates to enhance the computer programs to process the data and compose reports based on analysis of the experimental results. This is a transitional position for recent graduates with an OPT card. They can hone their skills to prepare them for the professional engineering market. Essential Duties: Operate the required facilities and acquire data. Assist the research associates and faculty in enhancing the computer programs to process the data. Organize technical meetings as required by the project. Write technical reports based on the analysis of the results. Make technical presentations for the sponsors.
Physical Demands
Typing/Keyboarding: Proficiency in typing and using a computer keyboard for extended periods. Speaking : Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Reaching : Ability to reach for items on shelves or in cabinets. Manual Dexterity : Ability to use hands and fingers to operate control panels open and close valve. Ability to work outdoors; may require standing squatting and reaching and lifting more than 25 pounds occasionally.
Required Qualifications
Masters degree in petroleum engineering or a closely related field. Experience in a computer language such as Python and MATLAB Knowledge of fluid flow in pipes
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with work in research facilities especially TUs North Campus. Competence in computer programming and/or coding.
