Overview
Emory Specialty Associates (ESA) is seeking to hire Anesthetists Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) to become a vital part of Emory Healthcares integrated academic healthcare system.

Work Hours/Schedule:
- Full Time Part Time.
- Combination of 8 10hour shifts along with extra shift opportunities if desired.
- No calls weekends or holidays.
Experience:
- General Anesthesia experience in an Ambulatory Surgical setting highly preferred.

Emory Specialty Associates (ESA) handles Ortho/Spine General Surgery Plastics OB & GYN GI and Outpatient Specialty cases at Emory Johns Creek Hospital (EJCH) Emory Ortho & Spine Hospital (EUOSH) and 15 Outpatient Surgical Centers located in the greater Atlanta Metro area. ESA Anesthetists are an integral part of the Emory Healthcare integrated academic health care system committed to caring excellence integrity and value.
Description
- Under the direction of an Anesthesiologist assists in the administration of general and regional anesthesia to surgical and nonsurgical procedure patients.
- Performs initial acute cardiopulmonary resuscitation in lifethreatening situations or as directed by a physician; Instructs others in principles and practices of anesthesia respiratory care and cardiopulmonary resuscitation as directed by the Anesthesiologist.
- Interprets and records patients physiological and pharmacological status assists the Anesthesiologist in gathering routine preop data.
- Assists in research projects as carried out by an Anesthesiologist.
- Establishes multiparameter monitoring of patient prior to during and after anesthesia or in other acute care situations including ECG direct arterial pressure central venous pressure arterial blood gas determinations hematocrits and routine measurement of temperature respiration blood pressure and heart rate.
- Establishes other monitoring as may be developed for anesthesia and intensive care use. Manages pre and postanesthetic care including ventilator management/support other respiratory care parameters as assigned/directed by an Anesthesiologist.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) Masters Degree program.
- Licensed or eligible to practice in the State of Georgia. Certified by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) or National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
- Must maintain biannual certification through the submission of Continuing Medical Education credits (CMEs).
- BLS ACLS PALS certifications from American Heart Association (AHA) required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium):
2050 lbs; 033% of the work day (occasionally); 1125 lbs 3466% of the workday (frequently); 0110 lbs 67100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking Occasional sitting Close eye work (computers typing reading writing) Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

Environmental exposures include but are not limited to: Bloodborne pathogen exposure Biohazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock Floor Surfaces Hot/Cold Temperatures Indoor/Outdoor conditions Latex Lighting Patient care/handling injuries Radiation shift work Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment including respirators environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
