Job Description

TITLE:Coordinator of Early Learning Programs (Birth through 4K)

QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development or a related field; Masters degree preferred. Minimum of five years of experience in early childhood education including at least two years in a leadership or administrative role. Certification in Early Childhood Education. Strong knowledge of child development and early childhood education best practices. Excellent communication organizational and leadership skills. CPR and First Aid certification. Knowledge of the South Carolina Department of Social Services certification requirements and oversight for child care centers.

REPORTS TO:Chief Academic Officer

JOB GOALS:To provide leadership and oversight for the Early Learning Programs ensuring a safe nurturing and educational environment for children ages infant to 5 years old. The Coordinator oversee registration and daily management. The Coordinator will support the professional development of staff implement curriculum standards and foster a collaborative relationship with school district employees.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the daily operations of the Early Learning Center and District Seven early learning programs birth through 4K ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Develop and implement ageappropriate curriculum and activities that promote the physical social emotional and cognitive development of young children.
  • Hire train and supervise early childhood educators and support staff.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and professional development sessions to ensure highquality care in education.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents providing regular communication and opportunities for involvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services making adjustments as needed.
  • Manage the centers budget including purchasing supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children and staff by maintaining a clean and secure environment.
  • Collaborate with school district administrators and staff to align the centers goals with district objectives.
  • Utilize data to inform decisionmaking and improve program quality.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required.

TERMS:220 days; Salary to be determined

EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in compliance with the Boards policy on evaluation and professional personnel.
