- University graduation in Social Sciences from a recognized university or a two (2) year diploma from a community college or technical institute in social services plus two (2) years related work experience in social services. Employees with a degree (BSW MSW) or diploma in Social Work must be registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers.
- Minimum two (2) years related work experience in traumainformed client support or sexual violence response.
- Working knowledge of the Canadian Criminal Justice System how it relates to victim services and a demonstrated understanding of the victim experience and the Victims Bill of Rights.
- Experience providing trauma related supports engaging and collaborating with other community partners who provide front line support to those who have experienced trauma.
- Experience providing client support immediately following a traumatic event and working in environments providing frontline support.
- Experience supporting survivors of sexual assault and coordinating with legal or medical systems.
- Ability to work independently with the ability to adapt quickly to change.
- Demonstrated understanding of trauma informed principles and how to apply them.
- GBA certification and intersectional understanding of genderbased violence.
- Experience in partnerships working with organizations who support a diverse population of people who have experienced trauma.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the various stages of grief and types of loss as well as knowledge of intergenerational trauma.
- First Responder to Sexual Assault and Abuse Training would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of thirdparty reporting options and sexual assault evidence protocols would be considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of addiction and mental health would be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge and Curriculum Design of Adult Learning Principles and Theories would be considered an asset.
- A Certificate of Advocate Training from the Solicitor General and coordinator training would be considered an asset.
- Completion of training in TraumaInformed practice. Training in nonviolent crisis intervention suicide prevention and conflict resolution is considered an asset.
- Ability to work closely alongside investigators maintain high levels of confidentiality concerning the release of sensitive investigative material and grasp of the appropriate levels of information release.
- Demonstrated leadership management problem solving and conflict resolution skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with law enforcement while building effective relationships within the communities served.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Albertas Drivers license. Must complete a City Drivers License application. Must also have access to own vehicle and provide written proof of current public liability and property damage insurance to a minimum of $1000000. EPS will reimburse mileage for any private vehicle usage during assigned duties. Client transport is not required.
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday. Afterhours callout on a rotational schedule. (Weekend shifts may be required)
Salary Range: 21B Salary Grade: 017 $32.42 $40.72 (Hourly) $2593.90 $3258.20 (BiWeekly) $67701.31 $85037.98 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.

The Crime and TraumaInformed Support Services Unit (CTSS) is seeking a compassionate selfmotivated professional to fill the role of Sexual Assault Coordinator. This position provides specialized support advocacy and coordination for individuals affected by sexual violence. The role involves working closely with survivors investigators and community partners to ensure traumainformed survivorcentered and culturally sensitive responses to sexual assault cases. The responsibilities of this position include:
- Provide traumainformed support crisis intervention and resource referrals to victims of sexual violence.
- Conduct client centered needs assessments case conferences and ongoing support from referral through to file resolution in court.
- Collaborate with CTSS Volunteer Advocates and EPS investigative units to deliver coordinated services.
- Identify gaps in service and work with a diverse group of community members to develop and implement effective strategies to mitigate these gaps.
- Work collaboratively with other EPS Units along with other CTSS Coordinators to ensure the community receives a high level of service.
- Build and strengthen relationships to foster trust and enhance community awareness of victim supports and resources available at the municipal. Provincial and federal levels.
- Prepare statistical reports drafts/update policy report on program outputs and other related duties as required.
- Develop and maintain strong stakeholder partnerships and identify appropriate community resources relevant to the clients served.
- Serve as a liaison between CTSS the EPS the Sexual Assault Section community partners and other Law Enforcement Agencies.
