    QUALIFICATIONS
    1. High School Diploma or equivalent
    2. An Associates Degree or 60 college credits or State/Local ParaPro Assessment test required
    3. Previous experience working with youth preferred
    4. Knowledge skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies
    5. Ability to obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    1. Knowledgeable of the basic course content for students; and educational goals and objectives for each assigned student
    2. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
    3. Ability to maintain accurate records and reports to monitor students speak and write effectively establish and maintain effective relationships work with and secure the cooperation of students
    4. Demonstrated general proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Excel Word and Outlook and with specialized computerbased equipment and software
    5. Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations
    6. Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff students parents and community members
    7. Ability to understand and maintain students and parents rights to confidentiality and not violate those rights; nor discuss students in inappropriate places or with anyone not in direct contact with such individual students
    8. Utilize with fidelity the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level
    9. Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position is held in the highest of confidentiality
    10. Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws district procedures and Board policies; including mandatory reporting procedures

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Under general supervision of the classroom teacher to assist the teacher in instructional tasks and in routine clerical recordkeeping and in the overall guidance of student activities involving games sports arts and crafts and various recreational programs and Library.
    1. Assist in planning the days activity
    2. Assist in identifying area of needs related to the program
    3. Assist in the development planning and implementation of the program.
    4. Provide a safe and supportive environment so students may fully access their education.
    5. Accompany and assist students throughout the school day as necessitated by the IEP
    6. Maintains required records and files and perform general clerical

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

    While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to reach with hands and arms sit stand walk stoop and bend as necessary for student learning and safety. The employee maylift carry push pull or otherwise move objects weighing a minimum of 10 pounds and could occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. The employee will read correspondence and computer screens and use the telephone.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    Indoors and outdoor environments in all types of noise level in the work environment is generally moderate and may become excessively noisy at times. Will have contact with students staff and the public.

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
    The Paraprofessional reports to the Principal or Site Administrator. The Paraprofessional will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
    INITIAL WAGE PLACEMENT PLAN:Starting at$14.70 Per Hour
    WORK YEAR:9 Months / 6 hours per day
