Position Overview:
This position applies gel coats to molds and boat surfaces ensuring a superior finish by preparing molds mixing gel coat materials and using spray equipment for application. This will also be a rotational position with the mold preparation area. Precision and strict adherence to safety standards is essential within the Resign Transfer Molding department.
- Performs elementary and routine mix and layup of composite materials fiberglass resins and catalysts onto mold surface using various hand tools.
- Cross trains to learn the mold preparation area of RTM to be on a rotational schedule with others within the department.
- Utilization of open mold and vacuum infusion processes.
- Works with various resins gelcoats fiberglass materials foam and structural adhesives.
- Installs wood and other components into fiberglass small part molds.
- Operates a variety of power tools including but not limited to saws drills grinders and overhead hoists.
- Locates parts by hand or by utilizing detailed blueprints work instructions tools and/or fixtures.

Required Qualifications:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail
- Proven problem solving and decisionmaking abilities.
- Willing and able to be crossfunctionally trained throughout the workstation to cover and fill in for absenteeism.
- Broad range of skill & working knowledge of work tasks plus working knowledge of related tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and analytical skills.
- Must be willing to work extra hours required to assure timely completion of critical projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Skills in forklift overhead hoist computer fiberglass and/or gelcoat applications preferred.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work well with teams professional or otherwise.
- Understand and follow verbal and written directions.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Ability to use hand battery and pneumatic tools.
- Ability to work near coworkers and work in areas with limited space.
- May be required to work in a nonairconditioned area.
- The job requires lifting up to 50 lbs. independently and over 50 lbs. with team assistance following proper safety protocols.
- Ability to work in a fast paced noisy environment.
The pay range for this position is $23.00 to $26.75 hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including jobrelated knowledge/skills relevant experience business needs and geographic location.
