Position Title: Instructional Technology Training Specialist (ITTS)
Pay Grade: Per Certified Salary Schedule Period of Employment: 11 months

Supervised by and/or Reports to: Supervisor of Testing and Instructional Technology and Building Administration
General Responsibilities: Assume a coaching role at the building level in developing implementing monitoring and evaluating the schools site plan for effective integration of instructional technology in the classroom.
Essential Duties:

- Trains staff on all Division applications and on how to create and effectively use digital resources.
- Supports Instructional Technology initiatives including blended learning projectbased learning and one to one programs and initiatives.
- Works collaboratively with individual teachers or groups of teachers to integrate technology into instruction.
- Assists with curriculum and content development to ensure technology integration.
- Assesses levels of teacher and student technology use and skills/needs before planning developing and implementing training materials and sessions.
- Model effective instructional strategies using technology.
- Works with administrators and teachers to plan and coordinate digital citizenship and digital literacy into existing and new curricula.
- Attends and participates in all divisionlevel meetings related to alignment and implementation of the division technology initiative and is on the technology committees.
- Maintains communication with the TSPECs assigned to the school.
- Researches and assists with the writing of technology grants.
- Keeps current with new technologies and their application across K12 curricula.
- Keeps current in basic technology troubleshooting techniques.
- Creates and maintains technology integrating online courses using the Divisions Learning Management System (LMS).
- Identifies trends in software curriculum teaching strategies and other educational areas and disseminates information regarding technology resources emerging technologies best practices using technology and professional development opportunities.
- Chairs the Technology Committee at the building level.
- Supports implementation of the division state and school level technology plans.
- Uses data to design technologybased instructional strategies.
- Recommends hardware software and related resources.
- Creates learning resources for administrators teachers staff students and parents.
- Provides training for and monitors teacher web pages.
- Works with testing coordinators to ensure that the comprehensive assessment plan is implemented successfully.
- Assists in the ordering of hardware and software and preparation of purchase requisitions.
- Maintains databases and records of technical certifications.
- Maintains accurate and uptodate records of all training building level Internet Safety activities for all stakeholders; maintain logs of all other time spent on daily actions.
- Models and trains on the skills necessary to schedule and/or administer online tests.
Requisite Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrates intermediate knowledge of educational technology integration best practices and the use of applications.
- Demonstrates knowledge of school management technology and its applications in relation to the dissemination of student performance data at all levels.
- Demonstrates effective and efficient problemsolving skills.
- Demonstrates interpersonal skills in working effectively with all staff and students in the application of technology.
- Demonstrates skills in communicating effectively orally and in writing.
- Demonstrates efficient time management and organizational skills.
Requisite Education and Experience:
- Must possess or be eligible for a Virginia Teaching License.
- Masters degree with an emphasis on Instructional Technology Curriculum preferred.
- Three (3) years of successful fulltime classroom teaching experience preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience delivering and integrating technology in instructional programs for PreK12 students.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in delivering formal and informal professional development to teachers or other adults in the integration of technology for instruction and productivity.
Physical Requirements:
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see read talk hear handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment such as but not limited to: a personal computer calculator copier and fax machine. Significant climbing stooping kneeling crouching reaching standing walking pushing pulling lifting grasping or repetitive motions required.
