The Collaborative for Regional Educational Services and Training (formerly GLEC) seeks a speech and language assistant to work on our 20 Shattuck Rd campus located in Andover. Programs served include ASD EBD and medically fragile groupings. Opportunity to work with a strong team of therapists in all disciplines and collaborate with other SLPs on campus. Experience with augmentative communication and assistive technologies position is to cover a leave of absence from August to January 2026. Evaluate the communication needs of individual students and to develop appropriate programming to develop or enhance the students ability to access education and to achieve his/her highest level of independence. Evaluation assessment consultation and direct treatment to those students assigned and the required documentation as specified below. As a member of a treatment/educational team provide consultation and training to the classroom staff for inclusion of these therapeutic techniques into the educational process. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDirect and consultation services to identified students provided individually and in group settingEstablishes and maintains appropriate records reports and procedures including but not limited to student attendance Completes Medicaid progress reports IEPs screenings justification for equipment documentationWorks in conjunction with educationally based multidisciplinary teamEstablishes and implements appropriate therapeutic interventions goals and service planDevelopment programming and maintenance of alternative communication systemsDevelopment and coordination of an inclusive team Participates in required meetings including but not limited to therapy meetings team meetings IEP meetings and CREST monthly staff meetings and inservicesInstructs educational staff concerning use of adaptive equipment positioning programs integration of therapy goals into the classroom and academic activities to enhance functionMust be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 poundsAssist with daily living skills for assigned studentsParticipate in equipment and materials ordering adaptations fabrication and equipment maintenanceCompliance with existing laws and professional ethics including HIPPA confidentiality and mandated reportingContact with families and appropriate medical professionals as permitted by law (HIPPA)Maintenance of appropriate continuing education credits as required by professional certification organization DESE or state licensureOther professional duties as assignedWORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
