TITLE OF POSITION:
Long Term Substitute Teacher
LOCATION:
Nauset Regional Middle School
DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT
OF POSITION:
This full time position requires an educator who can provide consistent high-quality instruction across multiple subject areas when regular teachers are absent. The ideal candidate will be flexible resourceful and committed to maintaining educational continuity for our students in grades 6-8.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide classroom coverage on short notice across various subject areas
Implement lesson plans left by classroom teachers or develop appropriate activities when plans are not available
Maintain classroom management and create a positive learning environment
Follow school policies and procedures regarding attendance discipline and safety protocols
Communicate effectively with staff regarding classroom activities and student concerns
Assist with supervisory duties during non-instructional times as needed
Complete all required documentation related to daily substitute activities
Participate in faculty meetings professional development and school events as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Education or related field required
- Valid state teaching license/certification
- Experience working with middle school students preferred
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to various subjects and learning styles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
