ReNuke Services is seeking a Protection & Controls Engineer IV for our clients site in Charlotte NC!

Description:
This position performs engineering conceptual design studies calculations and protection settings development for substation protection systems. Primary job responsibilities will be focused on the application of new protective relaying for existing infrastructure or new transmission system capital investments. Additional responsibilities include providing protective relay settings support and troubleshooting for protection systems as well as the development implementation and maintenance of protective device settings templates (transmission line protection transformer protection bus protection capacitor protection etc.).
Job responsibility will be managing and responding to Protection System settings tasks in the teams planner tool. This will include fielding requests from Account Management Distribution Transmission Planning System Performance and other teams within PGOTransmission. The candidate will also be supporting Transmission Capital project work and will be responsible for QA of OLRs and protection system settings.
Required Qualifications:
Experience in the utility industry.
Familiarity with Aspen Relay Database Aspen OneLiner CymTCC SEL5010 SEL5030 AcSELerator software.
Understanding and experience with NERC Compliance Standards including but not limited to: PRC006 PRC023 PRC025 PRC026 PRC027 CIP010 CIP002 FAC008.
Familiarity with electromechanical solidstate and microprocessorbased relaying.
Familiarity with relay protection schemes and relay logic for a variety of applications (Transmission Line Bus Transformer Breaker Failure Capacitors Etc.)
* Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification analysis and resolution of routine problems in area of expertise.
* Assists in the accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning organizing estimating scheduling and monitoring of work activities under the guidance of higherlevel employees.
* Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports correspondence documentation calculations and sketches associated with the resolution of routine technical problems.
* Conducts basic engineering studies requiring little evaluation or ingenuity.
* Possesses knowledge of fundamental concepts practices and procedures.
* Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Maintains accurate records and files.
* Supports the companys goals and represents the company positively and professionally.
* They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied. 15 years discipline experience and a unique SME skill
